In this heartfelt keynote, Nanik reflects on the student-athlete journey — the challenges, sacrifices, and meaningful moments that shape identity beyond the scoreboard. Speaking to peers and faculty at Dominican University’s annual banquet, he emphasizes purpose, presence, and growth through adversity. A moving message about legacy and leading with intention.

“Start Now” Valedictorian Speech – Nanik delivers a powerful commencement address centered on seizing the moment. He shares how mindset and action fueled his growth and encourages peers to begin pursuing their passions today—not tomorrow. Manhood 101 - Nanik Tagore - Entrepreneurship & Beyond || Keynote || - Tagore, a Senior at San Juan High School, discusses his passion for basketball and how it led to his recruitment by Holy Names University. He also talks about his entrepreneurial ventures, including a car washing business and a filming company called TV Films. Nanik emphasizes the importance of male role models in his life and shares his definition of a "real man." Finally, he offers advice to his younger self to savor every moment and interaction.

Spirit of San Juan Award – 2022

In 2022, Nanik Tagore received the Spirit of San Juan Award for exemplifying leadership, integrity, and dedication both on and off the court. A four-year varsity basketball player, three-year team captain, and class Valedictorian, Nanik represented the best of San Juan through his commitment to excellence, mentorship, and service. His energy, compassion, and drive continue to inspire others as he carries the spirit of San Juan forward into his journey as a college student-athlete and entrepreneur.

As an undersized guard, that was not usually the quickest nor the smartest player on the floor, Nanik knew in order to get to the next level he needed to find other ways to contribute to his team. Once he attended PGC, he quickly learned that he could impact the game without scoring the ball. Like bringing infectious energy to every practice and game, and being a good teammate even when it's hard. The 6x PGC Grad soon discovered that the little things were actually the big things and the habits he's built are now contributing to his success at Dominican University.
